Adventures of Ai

August 5, 2014 in Uncategorized - No Comments

I’m linking up again for Monday Made it with 4th Grade Frolics…I swear this is the only motivator to get things done!
First things first…
I received a copy of the ebook The Adventures of Ai to read and review.  It is a story written by Craig Bouchard and I was excited to dive right in.  It begins with a father telling his three girls a bedtime story about Ai, a Japanese girl living in 1514.  As I was reading I couldn’t help but notice the rich vocabulary and fantastic examples of literary elements.  I immediately began thinking of how I could use this in my classroom.  This is a cross-curricular story with elements of history and math, but it also has some fantastic messages laced throughout.  The young girl, Ai, goes on an adventure and has to overcome many challenges.  She is inspiring throughout and I found myself rooting her on and wondering what would happen next.  You can buy your own copy by clicking on the pictures below OR you could win a copy by entering the Rafflecopter giveaway below!
**I also need to mention that there is a game that goes along with the book.  You can preview the game in the book trailer.

In addition to a copy of the book you could also win a free copy of my newest product…Brag Tags!  I haven’t even posted these to my TPT or TN stores yet.  Below is just a small snippet of what is in the file.  There are over 30 pages of different tags!

I was so excited to finish the brag tags!  I printed them out and began cutting them.  They look great and I can’t wait to use them in the classroom.
I have been sharing some work around my house the past two Monday Made its…and I finally accomplished something MAJOR.  I turned my guest bedroom into an office!  I wish I had a before picture, but I don’t…womp womp.  This room use to be so cluttered.  There was a twin bed crammed in here amongst all the other things!  I took it down and am putting it in storage until I actually need it (it was just taking up space).
I got this bookshelf at Target and began to put all my knick knacks on it that were cluttering up my desk.  I also now have a place to store my teacher editions! I know it still looks cluttered, but I only have so much space to work with 😉
I also finally hung up my awesome Umbra Hangit Photo Display which has been on my “to do” list forever!

I went in to school today to start changing out my bulletin boards.  I use to have the green and stripe (upper right) and changed it to the pink and white polka dot and navy chevron.  I loved the old theme, but it was definitely time for a change and I am obsessed with the new colors!  What is your theme for the coming school year?
To go along with my brand new theme I created classroom helper signs for my job chart and I love the way they turned out!  They’re all laminated and just waiting to be cut out.

They are posted in my store, which is currently having a sale!  Click on the picture below to check it out!

I am obsessed with those cloth organizer baskets. The ones in your office are adorable. Cute theme for your classroom. My classroom theme seems to have become bright colors. My hallway display is a movie night theme.

I totally meant "meet up" not "link up"! That's what I get for trying to do things after the baby goes to sleep. 🙂
