With the shift to distance learning the end of the school year looks a lot different! Today, I am going to share some digital activities for the end of the year. Even though this year is ending very different from years past we can still have fun and celebrate the successes of the school year!
Virtual Talent Show
Have a talent show with your students during a virtual class meeting! Give your students time to prepare their talents and show them off to their friends. This is a fun and low prep activity.
Scavenger Hunts
You can have students do a formal hunt (pen and paper/digital sheets) or simply create a list of objects for your students to find around their houses and read the objects off one at a time. Your students will have fun scrambling to be the first to find each object! You can use this activity to review concepts from the year. For example “find me an example of a solid.”
Digital Memory Books
Every year my students would create memory books that I bound for them at the end of the year. I created a digital version of those books which your students can complete as a keepsake for this wild year! The finished books can be printed by the students or stored digitally. Check out the video below to see a close up of what I included.
Virtual Slideshow
Create a slideshow (or have your students create one) of pictures and videos captured throughout the year to watch together. These can be done in PowerPoint, Slides, or movie maker apps and programs.
End of the Year Digital Awards
Celebrate the achievement of your students with digital awards. Create awards (or buy this digital pack) and have an award ceremony to celebrate the hard work and achievements of your students throughout the year.
Take a Virtual Field Trip
Missing out on your field trip? Take a virtual one! So many places are offering virtual visits right now! https://www.discoveryeducation.com/community/virtual-field-trips/ Check out We are Teachers for a list of over 25 virtual field trips: https://www.weareteachers.com/best-virtual-field-trips/
Most importantly, remember you can’t do it all! This year is different for you and your students. Everything looks different, but we can still have fun with these digital activities for the end of the year!
