Do you want to change out the preloaded headers in your Google Classroom? Well, this blog post will walk you through the steps of how to create your own Google Classroom header template so you can customize your virtual classroom.
1. Choose Your Program to Create Your Google Classroom Header Template
Where will you create your header? Do you like to use PowerPoint, Keynote, or some other program? Pick the one you are most comfortable with and open a new document. I will be using PowerPoint for this tutorial. Open PowerPoint and choose “New Presentation.”
2. Change the document size
Google headers are 1000 x 250 pixels. To create your Goole Classroom header template you will need to change the setup of your document to this size. To do that in PowerPoint click “File” and then go down to “Page Setup.”
A dialogue box will pop up like the one shown below.
You will need to change the dimensions that are already there to 1000 x 250 pixels. To do this click width then type 1000 px. It will change to inches when you click out of the box. Then for height click 250 px and click ok.
The popup below will appear. I always click “scale up.”
3. Add elements to create your custom header
You will be left with a banner that looks like this below.
Now that you have your Google Classroom header template you can have fun creating custom headers for your virtual classroom. Some people like to add avatars that look like them. I have seen some teachers add class pictures. Some people even change it out based on the subject or season. There are so many ways you can use these headers in your Google Classroom.
